One Big Sky project update focuses on funding for study

New downtown Billings plan asks people to ‘dream big’


A strategic plan for downtown Billings that focuses on more housing, cultural diversity, better traffic and pedestrian circulation and support for large-scale, multi-anchor development was unveiled Tuesday morning. New plan for downtown Billings unveiled Tuesday


Next week, a little more than 20 years after the completion of the Downtown Billings Framework Plan, an updated, overhauled version of that document will be unveiled at a public meeting. The new Downtown Strategic Plan, the product of a year’s worth of work by Billings residents and a consulting firm from Indianapolis, will be made public Tuesday at 8 a.m. in the Royal Johnson Community Room of the Billings Public Library. New CEO named for Downtown Billings Alliance

Downtown hoping for larger share of housing market


A new study of housing needs in downtown Billings seems to suggest that the demand is there but is relatively modest, and that some fundamental improvements could entice more people downtown. The findings were presented Thursday at a meeting sponsored by the Billings Industrial Revitalization District and the Downtown Billings Alliance, the two groups that commissioned the market study of downtown housing. Downtown Autumn ArtWalk will feature 29 locations


Autumn ArtWalk in downtown Billings, set for Friday from 5 to 9, “embraces cool art, cool nights and cool music.” That’s according to a press release from the Downtown Billings Alliance, which also announced that tickets for ArtWalk’s first 50/50 raffle are on sale through the Winter ArtWalk, scheduled for Dec. 1. Historic building’s lofts being converted to condos


Seven units in one of the earliest downtown buildings to be converted to loft apartments are now on the market as condominiums.
