Audubon Center rolls out new summer activities

Responding to requests from the public, the Montana Audubon Center is offering several new programs this summer, including weekly nature tours of Norm’s Island and monthly early-morning bird walks. Also new are Tuesday-evening and Sunday-afternoon events involving canoeing on the nature center’s ponds or taking self-guided tours with “Nature Knapsacks” full of activity suggestions and equipment for each activity. Montana Audubon Center has new director

The former director of the Michigan Audubon Society has been hired as the new director of the Montana Audubon Center in Billings. Jonathan Lutz, who headed the Michigan society for the past seven years, took over at the Montana Audubon Center on Dec. 1. He succeeded Darcie Howard, the longtime director who resigned last summer with plans to return to her East Coast roots. (more…) Continue Reading →

One-of-a-kind play area opens Saturday at Audubon Center

Darcie Howard, director of the Montana Audubon Center, was not impressed when she first heard about something called a “nature play space.”
