Absarokee chips in to fund swimming pool upgrades


ABSAROKEE — If you’ve ever seen a slumped-shouldered sullen kid in the summer sun who didn’t have a place to swim, you know how Absarokee kids felt 50 years ago when parents kept them out of deep irrigations ditches and rapid running rivers, the only places a youngster could find cooling water. Brockel’s ‘Nun Better’ boosts Catholic schools campaign


Almost anything can be better, but Gary Brockel wanted to create a confection of which there would be none better. Make that Nun Better. That was the name chosen for a new confection from Brockel’s Chocolates he concocted to help the Billings Catholic School Foundation raise money for its new K-8 school, now under the first phase of construction on Colton Boulevard. CPR, AED instruction saves critical minutes, which saves lives

CPR basics

In an age of acronyms there are a couple that really are lifesavers. CPR for one, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation. And AED for another, or automated external defibrillator. Roundup motorcycle club raises $6,000 for vets home


When motorcyclists from Roundup roared into the parking lot of Independence Hall July 11 to begin a club rally, Bill Holder wasn’t sure what might result.

Holder, director of veterans services at the Volunteers of America-operated residence hall for formerly homeless veterans, often fields offers from the community to help veterans.
